It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Mad Science is going to share it with you! You won’t believe your eyes as you try to determine if what you’re seeing is magic or science. Don’t worry, we’ll explain it all as we use our indoor fireworks to create a festival of lights and share our top secret “special ice”, shipped straight from the North Pole. It all comes together with our magical no-melt snow. You’ll have to see it to believe it!

Biomes with live animals!
Chewonki will be visiting the library once again!
“From forests to deserts, and grasslands to the oceans, we will explore different biomes of our planet. Our focus is on three of the major biomes: rain forests, deserts and oceans.
A closer look at the flora and fauna will reveal the adaptations necessary to thrive within these unique areas. Our lesson uses slides, real specimens, and three live, non-releasable animals to discuss some of the specific species that call these special places home.”
This program is aimed towards 3rd graders up through adults.
Science with the Maine Discovery Museum
GSK Science in the Summer!
The Maine Discovery Museum is providing a box of science activities for kids this summer. You’ll receive a box full of materials for 3 chemistry activities. Kids can explore how medicinal chemists and materials chemists use chemical reactions to create new products. Join us for a Live Q&A with Marisa from the Maine Discovery Museum to answer your questions or you can share your experiences with the activities you tried out.
